Holiday With The Girls has a simple philosophy.

A fun, escorted, value driven holiday for women of all ages and backgrounds from the experienced to intrepid travellers. We make the most of our local areas, local foods & local activities.

Liz Merakis and Irena Veca, founders and main operators of Holiday With The Girls are always part of the planning and operation of the club to ensure you get a personal service. Founded in 2002, this unique women's travel club is the leading tour operator, specifically for women and women's organisations in Australia.

Both women have related Degrees and are from a Recreation and Youth Services background. They have both run numerous trips, holidays, activities and events over their 20 year work history. Trips are not limited to the itineraries listed, and we can also organise a private holiday for you and your friends.

We also have a philanthropic focus and ensure that the Club donates generously to various women's and girls' charities. We aim to support organisations such as Olivia Newton John Breast Cancer Foundation, The Australian Charities Fund Australia, Save The Children, Victorian Centre for Domestic & Family Violence Research and any other worthy causes.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?
Each trip we arrange has it's unique costs based on location, time of year and activity selection.

Our women's tours are all inclusive, we want you to have the full price upfront, so there's no surprises.

Although we keep our groups small, trips are still competitively priced and much more value oriented than other small group tours.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Travel with Liz & Irena (the tour operator's), and we will
  • Meet and greet you at the airport and organise transfers to your accommodation or destination
  • Provide complimentary cheese & fruit platter, and a glass of bubbly on arrival for a chance for everyone to get to know each other
  • Provide transport, accommodation; organise and participate in planned events and activities
  • Organise meals and food alternatives as requested

OUR TOUR LEADERS
All of our tours are led by Liz or Irena and other great, friendly and knowledgeable leaders. You will meet your tour guide before each trip.

On some of our tours, we will also employ local specialists to provide expert information on specific areas / topics. For instance, a nature specialist in Byron Bay, garden specialists in Melbourne, wildlife gurus in Alice Springs and art historians in Sydney. These experts not only provide us with insightful information, they also make a new traveller feel at home anywhere.

WHAT DO I EAT?
Our emphasis is on fresh food whenever possible and our meals are nutritious and varied. If you are vegetarian or gluten intolerant we can certainly cater for you. If your dietary needs are more specific, please discuss this at the time of enquiry/booking. For breakfast, we provide cereals, toast, tea and coffee, however, you are more than welcome to make your own arrangements. Lunch will be your own responsibility (not included in price). In the evening, we provide a cooked dinner (excluding our scheduled dinners at local restaurants/cafes). Cold drinks and wine are also included at dinner.

Drinking water is provided in the transport vehicle and during the scheduled walks. You will also have the opportunity to buy your own snacks & refreshments at local supermarkets.

Please refer to each individual tour/package to establish which meals are included.

WHERE DO I MEET THE TOUR GROUP?
We will request your pick up details at the time of booking, in most cases the local airport will be our meeting point.

AIRFARES & FLIGHTS
We allow our guests to arrange their own airfares in order to take advantage of the best rates and specials available. If you require assistance, we can certainly provide suggestions.

OUR ACCOMMODATION
Most of our holidays are based in share accommodation and in centrally located 4-5 star houses and apartments.

Depending on the size of the group and the type of housing available in the areas, we stay in a range of house and apartment style facilities.

On some trips, we may even stay in cabins if we are in remote or unique areas. This will be detailed in all trip itineraries.

ROOM SHARING
Most properties we stay in generally accommodate a maximum of 12 - 15 guests, with varying bedding configuration, to cater for single or twin options. Room / bedding selection is offered to guests in order of confirmation and once a booking deposit is received.

WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?
Airfares, Travel Insurance, additional non-scheduled activities

MEETING OUR TRAVELLING COMPANIONS "THE GIRLS"
A series of information sessions will be conducted to provide all interested women with further details. Once a trip has been confirmed, participants will meet one week prior to the tour and have the opportunity to exchange contact details prior to departure (for those who would like to make contact with other guests ahead of time).
